Manaakilani film fistival.

Kia ora, me and my whole school have our 12th Manaiakalani
Festival today at 10 O'clock and today all the local school’s are
heading down to Sylvia Park Hoyts to see all the wonderful films that
all classes have been working on even the other local schools. Also
you are welcome to come watch the films that we have been working
on for so long. The tickets is $2 dollars each person. Our film is about
the earth’s environment because every environment is a mess and it is
really inspiring but it could give you an idea to your mind to help save the
earth.

Bike day

                                                 Bike Day

On Monday 16th of September we had a bike day celebration
with the whole middle syndicate which is Room 4, 5, 6 and Room
8. We went down to the bike containers at 11.30 after morning
tea. Once we went to the bike containers we had to ride the new
bikes on the bike track because we were donated 25 new bikes by
Mike Greerer real Estate for free. We were donated 25 bikes for
the shed because our bikes kept getting stolen.

When I got my helmet and got my bike I was told I could only
take 2 rounds around the track and when I finished doing 2
rounds I was also served free milo, free biscuits and there was
another stall where we could design our own badges. There was
also another activity was to ride a bike that can make music.

It was nice riding the brand new bikes because the bike was
smooth, I could change gears, I felt the fresh calm air coming
through me and I was shocked and excited but before we got on
the new bikes Mrs Jalili disgusted the rules.

What do people do on matariki.

Matariki food        

On matariki celebration day which is a new maori
new year the maoris grow food like kumara,
sweet potatoes, tomatoes,  taro, hue and potato uwhi.

A hue is a bottle which is a plant but they make

it as a big bottle which they drink out of but they
cut the top of then clean it, add drawings on it and then they add the water. Maoris grow their plants in the farm or sometimes get their plants from the forest.this is a Potato uwhi maoris get from their garden.

Length-Jordan

In the morning Room 6 was learning how to measure
the length of the  the classroom, basketball courts,
the garden, the bike containers and to Miss Kelly’s
office to the kitchen. Me and my friends Havea,
Keru, Eh htoo and Orlando was measuring
the length from Miss Kelly’s office to the kitchen and
the length was about 46 meters and 61 centimeters long.
